Podcast 320 Grieving & Acceptance #2

 

One of the things i notice is what ever i resists persists.  I have had about 5 big losses since May, Loss of job, home had to move to a new town, loss of friends and whats familiar, lost a friend to death and now my fathers death and I now have a hard time concentrating and i have not been able to do my work consistently.  Its like my brain wants to relax and breath so i have to put work stuff on hold and relax and breath.  I have been resisting that.  Now I am going to accept and let myself have until the middle of September without being obligated to finish anything that takes some serious thinking.  I can do it. i’m just giving myself permission to let go and let God.

There are 5 stages of grieving.  We won’t necessarily have to do all 5.  They are not done in a particular order and there are people who communicate when they grieve, others isolate.  One isn’t better then the other its just whats so.Each stage varies in time for each individual.  Recognize the stages you are others are in and don’t resist.  Whatever we resist persists.

  1. Denial
  2. Anger
  3. Bargaining
  4. Depression
  5. Acceptance

Go for it!  I want on my grave stone she burned out instead of rusted out!  What do you want them to say about you?

Ask yourself are your actions and speaking in alignment with what you are committed to? Look at what are the habitual patterns that have that commitment thwarted?  Are you willing to take responsibility for when it doesn’t go that way you want or the way you expected and clean up your part? Are you willing to let go of Expectations of yourself and others?  What are you not being truthful about to yourself and others.

 

Our thoughts can be like a junk drawer-we need to take inventory and get rid of what is  not useful! (wendy b)
